Recreational Rowing

Recreational Rowing is perfect for a variety of rowers with different backgrounds. It is for Learn to Row graduates who wish to continue rowing at a recreational level as well as experienced rowers who donít have the time needed to commit to the Masterís program.

Typical workouts include six miles of rowing per practice or comparable workouts on the indoor rowing machines (ERGs) when the weather doesnít permit on-the-water rowing. Coaches from the DBC crew lead the practices and offer suggestions to help develop and improve your rowing technique. Opportunities to race at local regattas will be available if there is enough interest from the group.

Minimum eligibility for the Recreational program is the successful completion of a Learn-To-Row program or other past rowing experience. Rowers are encouraged to contact the Recreational Rowing Representative with any questions.

Recreational Rowing meets for 14 weeks, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  Program attendance is relaxed; however, consistent participation is encouraged.
